Great places to dine and drink in Hobart

Hobart’s food scene is undoubtedly one of the best in Australia. With a wide range of cool restaurants, cafés and bars, eating is one of the best things to do in this city.

Hidden away amongst office blocks in Hobart’s CBD is this lively cultural and entertainment precinct. Entry is via a doorway on Murray Street, or by an unassuming laneway on Liverpool Street. In The Hanging Garden encompassing nearly an entire city block and features a large central glass cathedral adorned by cascading hanging plants and lighting, surrounded by a tiered beer garden with outdoor dining and bars. Dining options include a Mother Mexico - a Mexican cantina, and Anju serving classic Korean barbecue, to name just a few. There’s a calendar of music, markets and events to entertain.
